How to get back on track with your mind and body

How to get back on track with your mind and body

If you’ve had one too many snacks during the Lunar New Year holiday, you’re not alone. While we enjoy ourselves during festive, the aftermath can sometimes feel depressing.

Here are some ways to reconnect with your mind and body post-holiday:

  1. Stay hydrated

Our bodies need hydration for many reasons, especially after the number of unhealthy calories intake. We need enough water for our bodily functions to work properly. If water is too boring for you, here are a few alternatives that can provide the same hydration as well:

  • Coconut water
  • Lemon Ginger water
  • Watermelon Juice

2. Eat more fiber-rich foods

Although fiber does not help with detoxification directly, it does help in curbing unwanted cravings for junk food. Some fiber-rich foods include avocados, artichokes, broccoli, and more.

3. Stay active

Find an exercise buddy and engage in physical activities that will allow toxins to be released from your body.

4. Get enough sleep

As much as there are many ways we can detox, sleep is still a crucial part of a natural detoxification process that we often overlook. It would be best to get at least seven to nine hours of sleep per night.

5. Meditate

After a hectic holiday season with family and friends, practicing mindful meditation can help us refocus our attention and bring awareness back to ourselves. This will allow us to keep our emotions in check and relax our bodies.
